Pennsylvania Inmate Lookup is a service that helps families and loved ones find incarcerated individuals in correctional facilities throughout the state. There are several types of correctional facilities in Pennsylvania, each with its own set of rules and regulations for inmate lookup.

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PADOC) maintains the state's correctional facilities. This includes all state prisons, correctional institutions, and community correction centers. The department is responsible for the care, custody, and control of over 44,000 inmates. The PADOC provides a searchable inmate locator on its website to assist family and loved ones in finding an inmate in their custody.

The state inmate options in Pennsylvania are divided into three categories: state prisons, correctional institutions, and community correction centers. There are currently 24 state prisons in Pennsylvania, which house inmates with sentences of more than two years. The state also has 16 correctional institutions, which provide specialized programming for inmates with specific needs such as drug and alcohol addiction, mental health issues, and sex offender treatment. Community correction centers are halfway houses designed to help inmates transition back into society.

In addition to state prisons, Pennsylvania is also home to several federal prisons. These prisons are managed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and house inmates convicted of federal crimes.

To find an inmate in a federal prison in Pennsylvania, you can use the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Inmate Locator. The locator allows you to search for an inmate by their name, BOP number, or FBI number. Once you have entered the inmate's information, the system will display their location, contact information for the institution, and their release date (if available). You can also call the BOP's National Inmate Locator at 202-307-3126 for assistance.

To find an inmate in a county prison in Pennsylvania, you can use the county's inmate locator system if available. Many county jails in Pennsylvania have an online inmate search feature that allows you to search for inmates by name, booking number, or other identifying information. Alternatively, you can contact the county jail directly and inquire about an inmate's location and custody status.

The Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) system is another platform that can be used to find offenders in Pennsylvania. VINE is a national program that allows victims and concerned citizens to track the custody status of offenders in real-time. Users can sign up to receive automatic notifications via phone, email, or text message when an offender's custody status changes. The system is free to use and available 24/7.

To use the VINE system, users need to visit the Pennsylvania VINE website and search for an offender by name or inmate number. Once they have located the offender, they can sign up to receive notifications about their custody status. Users can choose to receive notifications by phone, email, or text message and can customize the frequency and type of notifications they receive.
